Biography

Marie La Pierre was born about 1683 in Grand-Pré, Acadia, New, France, daughter of François (La Pierre) La Pierre dit Laroche (abt. 1648–bef. 1707) and Jeanne Rimbeau (abt. 1660–1737).[1]

In 1686, at Baye des Mines, Marie, aged 3, was living with her parents, Francois LAPIERRE [sic], dit la Roche, aged 38, and Jeanne RIMBAULT [sic], aged 24, and her two brothers: Francois, aged 5, and Jacques, aged 1. The family owned 1 gun. No land or livestock were recorded.[1]

In 1693, at Minas, Marie, aged 13 [sic], was living with her parents, Francois LAPIERRE [sic], aged 45, and Jean RIMBAULD [sic], aged 33, and her five siblings: Francois, aged 15 [sic], Jacques, aged 7, Claude, aged 5, Marguerite, aged 3, and Estienne [sic], aged 1. The family was living on 3 arpents of cultivable land with 11 cattle and 4 sheep.[2]

There is no record of her death.[3]
